The Harvey’s trip
The pilgrimage to the Harvey’s Brewery in Lewes was a raucous affair enjoyed by twenty gents and three intrepid ladies. You will note from the photos, the dress code for the womenfolk. After an informative tour of the aging and beguiling brewery, we had a rather “happy” hour and a quarter sampling rather exotic sounding beers such as Old Alex, Bonfire Boy and Star of Eastbourne….Not a drop was spilt…well only when there was a tap catastrophe!
The visit to the John Harvey Tavern afterwards was eventful to say the least. A number of men took it upon themselves to compare the size of their cod pieces, with there being much confusion as to what constituted a large fish and a small fish! It was definitely a “man thing” but enjoyed, indeed marvelled at, by the ladies present.
It was great to have some new faces come along – it would be great if more could join us on the second Tuesday of the month 8pm in the Ash.
Here’s to the next harvey trip…we’re on the waiting list.
