On Friday 20th December a hardy group of villagers braved the rain and sang carols around the houses in Penhurst. Thanks to everyone who provided us with hospitality!

A successful festival was held on 30th November and 1st December in the Village Hall with lots of trees decorated by local clubs and businesses and refreshments served.
St Michael’s Hospice Fundraising
A group of villagers involved in organising Country Fair and Cricket Bat Raffle met with Sophie, representing St Michael’s Hospice on December 3rd. Becky Parsons handed over a cheque for £2850 which added to the money raised by St Michael’s on their stall at the Country Fair brought the total to £3008.10! A fantastic achievement from our community and a fitting tribute in memory of Bob Parsons.

This took place on Friday 8th November with £299 raised for the New Village Hall Fund – to be spent on improvements at the Sports Field site. Thanks to Battel Bonfire Boyes for another great firework display and to everyone who cooked and served sausages and hot drinks.

Ashburnham Arts
This popular annual event was held in the Village Hall on 19th October. Visitors enjoyed seeing a variety of artwork in many different mediums, including work from local nursery and school children and delicious refreshments from Cafe des Artes!

Flower Show and Country Fair
The sun shone for this year’s Flower Show and Country Fair on 27th July and a great afternoon was enjoyed by everyone who came along. We had entries from 59 different people in the Flower Show and standards were very high. A full list of cup winners can be found in the Parish Magazine – which you can download on this site.
A fantastic total of £4,400 was raised on the day which will be split equally between St Michael’s Hospice and community projects for the sports field site.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise this year’s event and all those who helped on the day from the volunteers who made countless cups of tea to the young farmers who helped park cars safely and everyone who ran stalls, cooked burgers, served pimms and helped set up and clear up! Thank you all.

On 23rd March a group of villagers got together to collect litter around the lanes and afterwards others joined us for a Coffee Morning at the Sports Pavilion which raised £100 to be split between Out of the Blue and the Play Equipment Fund for the Sports Field site.
