On 5th February we gathered in the Village Hall for Plough Sunday led by Revd Gary
On 7th May Revd Gary led a Rogation Service up at Rock’s Farm
Followed by a Coronation Celebration Service, Community Picnic and Stool Ball Match at the Sports Field during which we enjoyed a visit from the local PCSO
On Saturday 29th July we held the Ashburnham and Penhurst Country Fair and Flower Show with a fantastic range of entries in the Flower Show, interesting vehicles to view, a visit from the fire brigade with games for the kids, traditional fairground games, fun dog show, lawn mower racing, stalls, teas and bbq.
We raised a fantastic total of £6,317 (from this event and catering at the Vintage Motorbike Show earlier in July) with £4,737 going towards the New Village Hall and £1,579 donated to the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance
On Sunday 30th July we held a Community Service in the Marquee up at the Sports Ground
On 24th September the annual Tingley’s Tractor Trundle took place through the village and surrounding countryside
A successful second Ashburnham Arts event was held on Saturday October 21st with lots of talented villagers displaying paintings, ceramics, embroidery, photography and much more. Many visitors came and enjoyed the exhibition as well as a chat with friends over delicious cake and coffee.
