Wildflower verges
This year was the first trial in our villages of designating sections of verges as wildflower areas. This means that they were not cut during the May verge cut and instead left to flower and spread their seed. We submitted 3 sections to be designated for the trial, shown on the map below.
Verges accepted for inclusion within the trial scheme will be cut around February time. The rest of the verges are due to be cut any time now as they are cut in the autumn, and we expect this to be towards the end of this month. However, if you have any concerns about visibility, access or other road safety issues, then you can get in touch with East Sussex Highways to report the issue and it will be inspected by a highway steward. You can contact them via email (customer@eastsussexhighways.com ) or through their website: https://www.eastsussexhighways.com/report-a-problem/vegetation/wildlife-verges
